Richmond midfielder Monique Conti has been voted best in the eyes of the coaches following Richmond's Round 2 match against Adelaide.
The star Tiger continued her strong start to the season with a 26-disposal performance, also collecting seven tackles, 429 metres gained and four marks, to poll nine coaches' votes.
The 22-year-old shone in a star-studded midfield battle featuring Crows Anne Hatchard (26 disposals) and Ebony Marinoff (22 disposals, 11 tackles).
Speaking to Richmond Media after the nine-point loss, Conti said that despite the result, the Tigers showed that their midfield group is going to be "a driving force this year".
"My focus, and most of the mids', was to hunt, and if not the ball then hunt the player," Conti said.
"I think we really took it to them and did well in contested possessions.
"(Adelaide) have two really good midfielders in Hatchard and Marinoff and they were awesome, but I think we really stuck it to them."
Conti, a member of the Tigers' leadership group, said she was proud of her side's efforts but was confident they can "go a level up".
"It's always frustrating to get a loss, but what's important is that we feel the hurt and move onto next week, I think we can take a lot of learnings out of this game," she said.
"Adelaide are the best and we really took it to them for three-and-a-half quarters, we just need to put four together and learn to fight all the way through.
"Our ability to be able take it to the best team really shows a lot about our character. They're a really tough opponent and they have some superstars and they play well as a team."
Also featuring in the votes from Richmond was fellow basketballer Tessa Lavey, who polled three votes for her display which included 19 disposals and three marks.
