Tyler Sonsie will make his senior debut in Saturday's Round 18 match against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.
The 19-year-old midfielder, 181cm and 73kg, was taken by Richmond with their third selection (No. 28 overall) in the 2021 national draft from the Eastern Ranges.
The tough ball-winner has been a standout at reserve level all year. In Richmond VFL's most recent match against Collingwood in Round 15, he was dominant with 31 disposals, five clearances and three rebound-50s.
Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris lauded the performance and said Sonsie was "back to his absolute best".
"He had a high contested possession count, good clearance numbers, and his work-rate both offensively and defensively was a standout," Morris said.
Sonsie has averaged 22 disposals per game across his 13 VFL outings in 2022 and has booted four goals.
