Liam Baker continues to surge in the 2022 AFL Coaches’ Association’s Player of the Year award.

The dual Richmond premiership star polled the most votes in the Tigers’ epic Round 15 encounter with Geelong at the MCG.

He received nine votes from respective coaches Damien Hardwick (Richmond) and Chris Scott (Geelong) following his superb performance.

Backed by Latitude, the player of the match for Round 15 match is Liam Baker.

Baker finished the match with 24 disposals, a game-high 14 contested possessions, four marks, eight inside-50s, a team-high seven clearances, team-high five centre clearances, three intercepts, one goal, four score involvements, four tackles and 479 metres gained.

Since Round 9, Baker has picked up 34 votes in the prestigious coaches’ award. Three times he’s been awarded the most votes in a match – nine v Essendon, Round 10, nine v Port Adelaide, Round 13, and now nine v Geelong, Round 15.

The only other Richmond player to feature in the Round 15 voting was Tom Lynch, who was given two votes for his strong display up forward – 12 disposals, a game-high five contested marks and three goals.
