Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris provides a summary of how the Tigers’ players performed in Sunday's 52-point Round 13 win over Coburg at Piranha Park.
Jack Ross (34 disposals, eight clearances, seven marks, one goal)
"Absolutely outstanding game from Jack. His preparation and attitude has been sensational over the past week and he played accordingly. He was hard at it, won plenty of the footy and was instrumental in our win."
Riley Collier-Dawkins (25 disposals, six clearances, five marks)
"Got back to playing the sort of footy we know he's capable of. His high-contested possession count, his hunt and his want to impact the contest was very evident."
Matt Parker (25 disposals, 11 marks, seven inside-50s)
"He had a really good game. His work-rate on the wings was sensational and he was involved in a lot of our chains from the back half as well as sending the ball inside-50."
Sydney Stack (23 disposals, nine inside-50s, one goal)
"Had a really pleasing game. He brought his teammates into the game and he was really clean and classy on the day."
Tyler Sonsie (21 disposals, 12 clearances, four inside-50s, one goal)
"Tyler got back to his in-and-under style of footy. He led the team with 12 clearances which is really exciting for a young player, and I thought his spread was as good as I've seen it at times."
Will Martyn (20 disposals, five marks, three inside-50s)
"He played a really good game once again. He's really worked on his aerial game and this stood out on the weekend. His attention to detail shutting out his opponent continues to improve each and every week."
Maurice Rioli (19 disposals, four marks, four inside-50s)
"He was good. His pressure was as you'd expect from Maurice. He had an opportunity to hit the scoreboard and this is probably one area that he needs to improve, but his impact on the game was significant."
Jason Castagna (18 disposals, six marks, five inside-50s, one goal)
"This attitude has been sensational leading the boys around him, and I thought his defensive pressure was great on the day."
Tom Brown (16 disposals, six marks, five rebound-50s)
"He's getting involved in a lot of our offensive chains at the moment which is great to see. The continued challenge is to see him become a really strong defensive player behind the footy, something that I'm really confident he can become."
Rhyan Mansell (16 disposals, seven marks, three rebound-50s)
"He had a slow start but worked his way into the game really well. He's been playing up forward but went down back and he made us a lot better down there through his run and his carry and his reading of the game."
Thomson Dow (15 disposals, four clearances, two inside-50s)
"We didn't notice him quite as much on the weekend as some of our other midfielders, but I thought he was part of a midfield group that was able to gain real ascendency through their preparation at the stoppage and contest, and it was good to see him play well."
Ben Miller (15 disposals, five marks, four rebound-50s)
"I thought he read the game pretty well. There were times where we probably didn't set up quite as well as we have been behind the footy, and that's part of his domain, so that's a challenge for him next week. But, I thought our backs as a whole we were quite solid and Ben played well."
Bigoa Nyuon (15 disposals, eight marks, two rebound-50s)
"He played a little smaller than he would usually play, which was new to him, and I thought he had a reasonable game. He probably can close the gap a little bit and then get offensive off that, but it was a good game from him and it's great to see him want to be offensively involved."
Noah Cumberland (14 disposals, six marks, six tackles, three goals)
"Noah did what Noah does and he hit the scoreboard once agin. I thought his best footy took place when he got his contest balance right, but it was also pleasing to see him focus heavily on his defensive intent."
Ivan Soldo (13 disposals, 27 hit-outs, four marks, four clearances, two goals)
"Continued to give us first use throughout the day and was a key focal point for us. He hit the scoreboard with two goals that should have been three, so it was a strong day for Ivan."
Tyler Young (12 disposals, seven marks, three rebound-50s)
Tyler had an outstanding game. I thought he was really aggressive in his contest work and he's gradually improving his offensive output, but his reading of the play is improving each week, which is something we've been working on.
Jacob Bauer (11 disposals, four marks, two goals)
"I thought Jacob had another solid game. He didn't get out-marked in many contests at all and he brought the ball to ground and also hit the scoreboard."
Jake Aarts (10 disposals, three tackles, four goals)
"While his numbers weren't high, I thought he played his role really well and had a high game-impact. It's great to see him get reward for the effort that he's put in over a number of weeks and he's been a really strong contributor to the culture of this team also."
Sam Banks (10 disposals, six marks, two inside-50s)
"Sam had a reasonable game. We certainly didn't see some of the explosive and exciting plays that we've come to expect from Sam off half-back and on the wings, but he had to work his way through some adversity and it was quite pleasing to see him do that."
Samson Ryan (nine disposals, 17 hit-outs, thee contested marks four marks)
"Had a solid game. He was a part of a ruck duo that gave us real dominance and he took three contested marks which was extremely pleasing. He continues to develop really well as a tall option both in the ruck and up forward.
Lachlan Street (nine disposals, four marks, three rebound-50s)
"Had a little bit of a shaky start but I thought he worked his way into the game really well and tidied up on a couple of things that we've been looking for him to tidy up on. He got some great growth out of his game on the weekend."
Lachlan Carrigan (four disposals, two marks, one tackle)
"Played minimal game time, but I thought his attitude was fantastic. He made an uncharacteristic error in defence, but it was really pleasing to see him then back himself, and he took a really good mark in an important contest aerially."
Mate Colina (three disposals, two tackles)
"I thought Mate improved significantly from the previous week. His reading of the play is going to just continue to get better and better each week."
