Triple Richmond premiership star Shane Edwards moved into equal seventh place on the Club’s all-time player games list with his appearance in the opening round match of the 2022 season against Carlton at the MCG.
It was Edwards’ 282nd game for the Tigers, which is the same as Yellow and Black great Matthew Richardson.
“Richo” played his 282 games with the Club from 1993-2009, while Edwards debuted in 2007.
Meanwhile, Richmond’s former captain Trent Cotchin went past the games’ total of his captaincy predecessor Chris Newman in last Thursday night’s Round 1 encounter.
Cotchin, a three-time Tigers premiership skipper, has now played 269 games and is in 11th place on the senior appearances list at Punt Road.
