Richmond small forward Steely Green's goal against Fremantle has won the Round 5 AFL Goal of the Week.

Green was hard against the boundary line early in the second term of the Barossa Park clash, crumbing the ball at the top of the 50 before snapping the magnificent goal.

The ball spilled out of debutant Jonty Faull's hands, with Green eagerly waiting at the bottom of the pack, running through at perfect speed to collect the footy

The 21-year-old beat out Fremantle's Patrick Voss and Brisbane's Zac Bailey for the Goal of the Year nomination. Green is now in the running to win the major prize at the end of the season.

Richmond head to Marvel Stadium on Saturday night to take on Gold Coast from 7.35pm (AEST).
