The comprehensive rankings for each league club appear in the 2013 AFL Prospectus.
Richmond’s defence is ranked 13th, the midfield/rucks 6th and forward line 6th.
For the first time in the Prospectus, players who have played at least five times in the past two years have been given a ranking.
The top-ranked player in each position is rated at 100 points and the bottom player at zero points. Every other player is assessed in relation to those in the same position and ranked accordingly.
The Prospectus also shows that Richmond has the 11th oldest list in the competition, at an average age of 23.72 (not including those players yet to appear at AFL level), and the ninth most experienced, at an average of 63.47 per game.
This year’s runner-up Hawthorn is ranked No. 1 overall on the 2013 quality ladder, followed by West Coast (No. 2), Sydney (No. 3), Fremantle (No. 4), Collingwood (No. 5), Adelaide (No. 6), Geelong (No. 7), Essendon (No. 8), Carlton (No. 9), Richmond (No. 10), North Melbourne (No. 11), St Kilda (No. 12), Melbourne (No. 13), Brisbane (No. 14), Western Bulldogs (No. 15), Gold Coast (No. 16), Port Adelaide (No. 17), Greater Western Sydney (No. 18).
