Triple Richmond premiership star key forward Jack Riewoldt has recorded his highest tally of goals in the opening two rounds of an AFL season.
Riewoldt followed up his four-goal opening round performance against Carlton with another four-goal haul in the Tigers’ Round 2 victory over Hawthorn at the MCG yesterday.
The previous best goal return by Riewoldt in the first two rounds of a season, throughout his 15-season career at the game’s highest level, was in 2013.
He went goalless in Round 1 that season against Carlton but booted seven goals the following week v St Kilda.
Riewoldt, a 10-time winner of the Club’s leading goalkicker award, the Michael Roach Medal, finished the 2013 season with 58 goals.
