Richmond has joined forces with VicHealth to launch the Find Your Motivation Campaign.

The 10-week campaign encourages Victorian women to be more active in their day to day lives.

Richmond has four ambassadors aligned with the campaign – two current players along with Tigers legend Matthew Richardson and Club dietitian Kylie Andrew.

The ambassadors will have a strong digital presence, encouraging Victorian women to rediscover how good it feels to get active.

More than two thirds of Australian women are classified as being sedentary or having low levels of exercise.

However, women demonstrate the strongest intent to increase levels of physical activity and are seeking out social and non-organised sport and physical activities.

Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said the Club was thrilled to be involved in the campaign.

“It’s exciting for Richmond to be involved with VicHealth for a second consecutive year and we hope the campaign will inspire women across the state to get active,” Gale said.

“Through our partnership with VicHealth and other health and recreation initiatives, we understand the importance of good health and lifestyles for the community, and we look forward to supporting the campaign”

Richmond is one of six partners involved in the Find Your Motivation campaign, alongside Hawthorn and Geelong Football Clubs, Melbourne City Football Club, Melbourne Vixens and Parkrun.

VicHealth CEO Jerril Rechter said it was a pleasure to once again join forces with the Richmond Football Club to promote the importance of healthy and active lifestyles.

“This campaign is about helping more women take that first step towards being more active. Just a small activity can make a big difference, like hopping off the tram a stop early on the way to work,” Ms Rechter said.

“We want to see an increase in the number of women and girls who are physically active and hope through our partnerships with Richmond Football Club and our other sports partners that we can encourage more young women to get their daily dose of exercise.”
