A disappointing Richmond has been beaten comprehensively by Geelong at Skilled Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Key Geelong forwards James Podsiadly, Cameron Mooney and Steve Johnson have combined for 15 goals in the Cats' 108-point win.

The trio booted five each as Geelong won 24.17 (161) to the Tigers 7.11 (53).

Richmond had just three goalkickers - Jack Riewoldt (three), Ben Nason (two) and Kelvin Moore (one) - in its worst loss under first-year coach Damien Hardwick, although Shane Tuck notched up a game-high 38 touches.

Podsiadly shone in just his fourth AFL match, using his strength and sticky fingers to take five contested marks.

The 28-year-old kicked three goals in the second term, with Mooney booting three goals in the third quarter and Johnson three in the last.

Joel Selwood - who amassed a staggering 25 disposals in the first half - finished with 36 touches, and Paul Chapman also stood out with 33 possessions, two goals and five scoring assists.

The match never promised any great heights, with Richmond traveling down the highway as rank outsiders, and it didn't take long for the script to begin playing out.

A minute in the match and Paul Chapman had the first on the board and by quarter-time, the Cats had seven majors and a 44-point lead while the Tigers could muster just two behinds.

Richmond opened the second term with its first via Riewoldt, but Geelong's dominance quickly resumed and by half-time it was all over, with the Cats up by 68 points.

The second half was simply a case of how far Geelong would win by.

The Cats turned for home 91 points up, but easily cracked the ton in the final margin.
