Matthew Richardson previews Saturday night's Grand Final against Geelong at the Gabba.
1. More of the same
Richmond will be looking for more of the same from their midfield group heading into Saturday night’s Grand Final at the Gabba. In the last two finals, the Tigers won centre clearance 15-5 against St Kilda and 11-4 against Port Adelaide. Given the shorter length of the Gabba, first use out of the middle will be a key factor in the game.
2. Faithful Grateful
Regardless of the result this Saturday night, the Tiger Army will be proud of the effort this team has given in 2020. In a difficult year for everyone in Australia, this team has taken everyone back home on the full journey. All Tiger supporters are extremely grateful for the ride this year.
3. Get the ball to ground
The ability to close down space and not allow the Cats to control the tempo of the game with uncontested marks will be crucial. In their last two matches, the Cats outmarked Collingwood by 88 and Brisbane by 21. This is off the back of their uncontested possession game where they led the Magpies by 142 and Brisbane by 65. Get the ball to ground and get it in dispute.
