Richmond is slightly on the positive side of the win-loss ledger in cut-throat semi-finals throughout its AFL/VFL history.
The Tigers have played in a total of 18 such finals for 11 wins and seven losses.
They narrowly lost their first semi-final clash back in 1916 against Carlton at the MCG.
In their most recent make-or-break semi, they beat the Blues by 11 points during the 2001 finals series.
