Speedy Richmond utility player Oleg Markov made the most of the opportunity presented to him in last night’s clash with Gold Coast at the Gabba.
Markov, recalled to the Tigers’ line-up for just his second senior appearance this season, played a valuable role across half-back in the team’s 21-point win.
He provided plenty of dash out of defence throughout the match and finished with 14 disposals, five intercepts, five marks and 371 metres gained.
Otterbox Defensive Acts: Round 12
Watch the best defensive acts from the Round 12 win over Gold Coast.
It was just the 19th AFL game for the 24-year-old, who was recruited by Richmond from SANFL club North Adelaide in the national draft.
He has endured a series of injury setbacks along the way, but if he can maintain the form he displayed against the Suns, there could be quite a few more games ahead of him at senior level with the Tigers.
