Hundreds of local fans came out to see the Tigers as they hit Mildura for the first day of their Australia Post AFL Community Camp today.

It was a sea of yellow and black as the playing group took an Auskick clinic and autograph session at Aero Ovals, with Jake King and Matt Dea the favorites among the fans.

Earlier, the Richmond traveling party was greeted at Mildura airport by a traditional Welcome to Country ceremony, performed by Hope Dancers - part of the Korin Gamadji Institute REAL Camp Alumni.

The players then visited a host of local schools in the area, along with two local hospitals.

"It's a very important program for us, and it's a good opportunity to get among the fans that are always so loyal to us," Richmond midfielder Trent Cotchin said.

"It gives them a chance to meet the players and spend some time with them in the schools and out with at the clinics."

Richmond CEO Brendon Gale, coach Damien Hardwick, Club legend Dale Weightman and senior players Chris Newman, Jack Riewoldt and Cotchin were special guests at a dinner which raised funds for grassroots football in the Sunraysia district.
