“The Roar is Back” - Richmond’s membership theme for the 2013 season - was officially launched today.
After a record membership year for the Club in 2012, which saw the Tigers break through the 50,000 barrier for the first time in their history, the bar has been raised even higher.
Richmond is now targeting 60,000 members in 2013, with memberships officially going on sale today.
The Club has revamped its membership website, with easy-to-use navigation and step-by-step process designed to make it simple to choose the package most suited to you.
The Roar is Back theme was created through consultation with Australia’s leading sports entertainment consultants, the Gemba Group.
“In recent years, the Richmond Football Club has been building, on and off the field,” said Richmond’s CEO Brendon Gale.
“It has taken an enormous commitment from everyone involved with our Club. From the huge Tiger Army, through to those who sit around the boardroom table, this has been a concerted team effort.
“To help arrive at the new membership theme for 2013, we commissioned the Gemba group to conduct research on our behalf, and uncover some insights into our Club and our supporters.
“We wanted a membership theme for 2013 that reflected the insights of our key stakeholders and one that really lived and breathed Richmond.”
Gemba Director Ben Crowe explained the creation of The Roar is Back concept, in a video for Roar Vision, which was also launched today.
“We recognised there’s a belief and real optimism about the place, whether that's amongst the team, the coaches, the management, and even the membership department. So, our goal was to extend this confidence to the wider Richmond community,” Crowe said.
“And, with Richmond right now, it’s a confidence built on a foundation of a club that’s totally united and filled with people, who know what it takes to achieve sustained success, both on and off the field.
“It’s a confidence that can be backed up. It’s a confidence that signals to the other teams that Richmond has its mojo back - if you like. That the Tigers have a bit of a strut once more.
“And, that’s what’s behind the creation of The Roar is Back. It speaks of the sense of pride that’s well and truly back at Tigerland.
“The Tiger faithful can feel it, and they’re confident that 2013 will be an opportunity to express their passion, and even regain some bragging rights.”
