Experienced Richmond defender Kelvin Moore has recovered well from his comeback AFL match against Gold Coast Suns at Cairns’ Cazalys Stadium last Saturday.

Moore certainly didn’t look out of place in his first appearance at AFL level since the final home-and-away round of the 2010 season, following a serious hip injury that threatened to end his playing career.

The 28-year-old picked up 19 possessions and took 11 marks in a solid return to league football.

“It was one of the real positives (out of the match),” said Richmond’s Elite Performance Manager Matthew Hornsby.

“Speaking to Kel after the game, he felt like he’s pulled up better than what he did even when he was playing senior football in previous years.

“He’s really pleased with how his hip’s coping . . .

“He’s played across six weeks now and has pulled up really well from those games, so that’s a real positive for us.”
