Not even a vintage, wintry Melbourne day could dampen the enthusiasm of around 600 young Richmond supporters, who attended today’s ‘Cotchy’s Cubs’ junior football clinic at the ME Bank Centre, Punt Road Oval.

It was cold, it was wet, it was bleak, but that didn’t deter the cubs in the slightest, as they threw themselves into the many activities on offer, supervised by the current-day Tiger players.

Not surprisingly, many of the kids wore the No. 9 on the backs of their Richmond jumpers of Cotchy’s Cubs’ ambassador, Trent Cotchin.

There also was a fair smattering of Brett Deledio’s No. 3, Dustin Martin’s No. 4, Jack Riewoldt’s No. 8 and Chris Newman’s captain’s No. 17, while Jake King also had his fair share of admirers wearing his No. 28, as did the ex-dreadlocked Ben Nason, with his No. 28.

All in all, it was a terrific afternoon’s entertainment for Cotchy’s Cubs, and an ideal way for them to get warm . . .
