Richmond players substituted kicks and marks with drives and putts at the fifth annual Tigers Masters at Moonah Links last weekend.
Organised by Club supporter Brian McCue, the event attracted 63 entrants, including the majority of the Richmond playing list.
And while the likes of Brett Deledio, Jack Riewoldt, Chris Newman, Brad Miller and Alex Rance showed they were more than capable of swinging a golf club, the current crop of Tigers were upstaged by some Yellow and Black greats, and one handy former cricketer.
The foursome of Matthew Richardson, Nathan Brown, Richmond team manager Mark Opie and former Australian bastman Dean Jones took out the title in the ambrose format.
Former Tigers Greg Tivendale, Will Thursfield and Mark Coughlan also took part.
Daniel Connors won the trophy for closest to the pin, while Luke McGuane won the longest drive competition.
Other Richmond players to impress were Kel Moore, Matt White, Andrew Browne and Jake King.
The event has grown from seven competitors in its first year, and planning for the 2013 event is already underway.
