Talented, young Richmond forward/ruckman, Todd Elton, will make his AFL debut in Saturday’s big Round 14 clash with Adelaide at AAMI Stadium.

Elton, 197cm and 92kg, has been rewarded for his impressive form at VFL level with Coburg.  He was a standout in the first half of Coburg’s win against Collingwood last Sunday, gathering 13 possessions and grabbing seven marks.

The 19-year-old, who was Richmond’s second selection (No. 26 overall) in the 2011 AFL National Draft, initially caught the eye of the Tiger talent scouts during the 2010 season, as a bottom-age player, performing strongly for his TAC Cup team Dandenong Stingrays and winning selection for Vic Country in the national under-18 championships.

Last year, Elton split his time between the Stingrays, Vic Country and the AIS team.  He had a major impact in several games, as a leading forward and ruckman, through his high marking, athleticism and attack on the football.

The two other inclusions in Richmond’s side for the match against the Crows are defenders Dylan Grimes and Steven Morris, who have both recovered from injury.
Jake Batchelor, Brett O’Hanlon and Reece Conca have all been omitted from the line-up.

The three Tiger emergencies are O’Hanlon, Conca and Tom Derickx.
