Richmond has achieved a significant membership milestone, signing its 53,000th member for 2012.
The Tigers hit the mark late yesterday, with still one week remaining before the AFL’s cut-off date for official membership tallies.
This accomplishment is a key part of the Club’s five-year strategic plan, which set a target of 75,000 members by the end of 2014.
It places Richmond fourth overall in terms of membership numbers among AFL clubs, behind only Collingwood, Hawthorn and West Coast.
“This excellent result is a tribute to the incredible passion, loyalty and pride shown in the Yellow and Black by the Tiger Army,” said Richmond’s CEO Brendon Gale.
“We thank them for their wonderful support and really look forward to reaping the rewards of their commitment to the Club in the coming years.”
The Membership Department has immediately turned its attention to 2013, where the Club will target 60,000 members, which would make Richmond only the third club in AFL history to achieve such a feat.
Supporters interested in taking out a membership in 2013 can register their details to receive priority membership information, as it becomes available over the coming months.
