Richmond’s Chris Knights, Kamdyn McIntosh and Cadeyn Williams will have a change of scenery from their usual routine at the ME Bank Centre, with a three-day trip to Central Australia, as part of the Club’s ‘Outback Tigers’ program.

The players will fly in to Alice Springs and spend time with students and communities in both Alice and remote parts of Central Australia, as part of the program delivered in partnership with Dick Smith and the Northern Territory Government.

The trip will be a return visit for the three injured players, after travelling to Alice Springs with the Richmond as part of its community camp and exhibition game against the Indigenous All Stars in February.

For the players, the trip will also be an opportunity to experience remote parts of Australia, understand more about Indigenous cultures, and reinforce the importance of school attendance, healthy eating and maintaining good hygiene with the students, which are the aims of the Outback Tigers program.

The Club runs the program in Central Australia all year, with two player visits, webcam sessions with players, regular school visits by program officers based in Alice Springs, and a Dick Smith Rewards Program which offers trips to Melbourne to selected students with outstanding school attendance.
