Richmond spearhead Jack Riewoldt has lent his throwing arm to the Australian Baseball League’s Melbourne Aces as they attempt to secure a playoff berth this weekend.

Riewoldt will throw the first pitch in the lead-up to the Aces’ final regular season game against Canberra Cavalry this Sunday at the Melbourne Showgrounds in Ascot Vale at 3pm.

The Aces are locked in a tense battle to secure a spot in the playoffs, with the result of the series with Canberra to decide the team’s fate.

Sunday’s match will also be dedicated to raising funds for muscular dystrophy, with a silent auction being held throughout the game.

A Richmond playing guernsey signed by Trent Cotchin, Chris Newman, Jack Riewoldt and Dustin Martin is up for grabs, along with an Aces team signed undershirt.

And the Aces will donate $1 from each ticket sold on Sunday to the charity.
