Influential ruckman, Ivan Maric, and rising star defender, Dylan Grimes, have been included in Richmond’s leadership group for the 2013 season.
The Tigers’ players and coaches voted on the new structure while on their pre-season camp in Cairns this week.
The leadership group also includes recently-appointed captain Trent Cotchin, vice-captain Brett Deledio, Jack Riewoldt and Daniel Jackson.

“Both players fully deserve their inclusion in the leadership group, for the respect they have within the Club and the way they conduct themselves, both on and off the field,” said Richmond’s General Manager of Football, Craig Cameron.
“Dylan is an outstanding young leader and a fine example to the developing players on our list, and Ivan has made an enormous impact at the Club in only 12 months.”
Chris Newman, who stepped down as Richmond’s captain at the end of the 2012 season, opted not to be in the leadership group for 2013.
“Chris will naturally provide outstanding leadership skills, regardless of whether he is in the official leadership group,” Cameron said.
“He recognises Richmond has an impressive group of young leaders, who will guide the Club into the future.
“We have been working hard to develop a culture of leadership across the entire playing list, rather than putting the onus on particular individuals.”
