The Legends Cup is back for 2012, and will be played before the Round 20 Richmond v Western Bulldogs game on Sunday, August 12.

You can soak up the experience of playing on the hallowed turf of the MCG, while rubbing shoulders with former Richmond stars Dale Weightman, Nick Daffy, Jim Jess, Bruce Tempany and many more.

Preparations for the game include an indoor training session at the ME Bank Centre on Thursday, August 9, and you will receive your very own Richmond playing kit and take part in the jumper presentations.

On game day, participants will go through pre-game routines and talk tactics with coaches, Club Immortal Francis Bourke and former player Neville ‘Rocky’ Roberts, as well as hear from Club Legend Matthew Richardson as he gives an inspirational speech before the teams run out.

All Legends Cup players and their guests will watch the Richmond v Western Bulldogs game from level two in the Ponsford Stand, and will have access to the Harrison Room for the day, where refreshments can be purchased.

After the main game, all Legends Cup players and their guests are invited back to the Maurice Rioli Club at the ME Bank Centre for complimentary drinks for one hour.

The Legends Cup will be presented, along with the two best player medals, named in honour of Peter Welsh and Terry Smith.

The cost to participate in this experience is $1,495 per person, and all proceeds go to the Richmond Former Players and Officials Association Trust.

Applications close on Friday, August 3.
