It was a case of fourth time lucky for industrious Richmond small forward Jake Aarts against North Melbourne at Metricon Stadium last night.
Aarts, who was goalless going into his third game of AFL football, had three fairly straightforward set shots for goal, but missed them all.

Not to be denied, however, early in the last quarter he broke his goal drought with a classic piece of crumbing and a fine snap.
Then, inside the last minute of the match, he swooped on a loose ball deep inside the Tigers’ forward-50 area and steered it through for his second goal.
Aarts was a valuable contributor for Richmond in its 54-point win with those equal game-high two goals, eight score involvements all-up and an equal game-high three marks inside 50.
Post-game, he told Richmond Media how pleased he was to finally kick his first goal in AFL football.
"It was real good, actually. It took me a while to get it . . . I kicked three points leading up to those two (goals) and to finally get them out of the way, it was a good feeling. Maybe I’ll just play on next time,” Aarts said.
