Shaun Grigg is a no-fuss footballer, on and off the field.
On the eve of his 100th AFL game, the 25-year-old will allow himself a thought or two about his journey so far.
But not long after, he’ll direct his attention to what’s required for him to play his role on the weekend. That’s just his style.
Grigg is happy to share the triple-figure milestone with Tigerland favourite Jake King this week, and doesn’t fancy his chances of overshadowing his team-mate.
“It’s a good milestone to get to. I’ve worked hard, and it’s my seventh season now, so it’s a little bit of a reward,” Grigg said.

“It’s nice to be sharing it. I’m sure the banner’s going to be all about the ‘push-up’, and I might get a little mention in there.
“I just sort of take it year-by-year, and week-by-week. At the time I was drafted I didn’t think about those sorts of milestones, but I’m happy to be here now, and hopefully there’s more to come.”
Grigg played 43 games for Carlton between 2007-2010, but a lack of opportunity led him Tigerland, where he has flourished as a free-wheeling midfielder.
Since the start of the 2011 season, he has missed just one match, twice achieved a top-10 finish in the Jack Dyer Medal, and proved himself as a handy goalkicker.
So far in season 2013, he averages 22 disposals, seven marks and three tackles, as a vital cog in the Richmond midfield unit.
