Richmond assistant coach Danny Daly is delighted with the Tigers’ growth in the all-important midfield area.

Daly, who is the Richmond’s midfield coach, feels the lightening of the load on gun midfielders Trent Cotchin, Brett Deledio and Dustin Martin is a key element in the team taking the next step in its football journey.

“’Jacko’ (Daniel Jackson) has had a terrific year, Axel’ (Nathan Foley) is back, Brandon Ellis and Reecey Conca are now in their second and third years, we’ve got Matty Arnot coming through, ‘Whitey’ (Matthew White) is having a good year, and Nick Vlastuin is going to be a jet,” Daly said on this week’s episode of the Club’s official podcast, “Talking Tigers”.

“It just makes our midfield depth really good.  And, it also makes it harder at selection each week as to what we do.

“We’ve had to play midfielders across the half-back line to get them in the side and across half-forward.

“It’s a good problem to have.”
