Richmond key forward, Ty Vickery recently joined his dad, John, Richmond’s boxing coach, to help out with a program at Presentation College Windsor (PCW).

The program, called ‘Healthy Tigers’, is an initiative for Year 9 students at the girls’ college to increase physical activity in students.

Richmond has a limited number of signed sublimated jumpers for your charities or community fundraising initiatives, click here for more information, or to purchase yours today.

Healthy Tigers reinforces the important message of health and fitness to females at an age when teens begin to lose interest in physical activity.

John Vickery is the full time facilitator of the program, and Ty joined his dad to help out on a free afternoon.

The students participate in a variety of physical activities, including football, boxing, time trials, yoga and sessions with Richmond’s nutritionist, Kylie Andrew.

The location of the program alternates between the grounds of PCW, the Royal Botanical Gardens and the elite sporting facilities at Richmond’s ME Bank Centre, Punt Road Oval.

“Our students love the program. They look forward to each of the workshops, particularly challenging themselves for the ‘Tan’ time trial and being put through their paces doing the football skills,” said Dani Menalda van Schouwenburg, Head of Health and Physical Education, Presentation College Windsor.

Richmond has been running Healthy Tigers for six years with over 700 students participating. The program is just one of a number of programs the Club is involved in to strengthen the connection to community using the power of Australian Football.
