Daniel Jackson’s freakish snap against the Western Bulldogs in Round 13 has been voted the second best goal of the year by Richmond fans.

With the game in the Tigers’ keeping in the fourth quarter, defender Bachar Houli kicked long to a one-on-one contest involving Ty Vickery, who paddled the ball toward goal.

The Richmond big man worked hard to keep the ball in front of him, before dishing off to Jackson, who was running toward the boundary line.

Under enormous pressure, he quickly glanced inside to look for options before going alone with a snap from an almost impossible angle.

The goal, which Channel 7 commentator Luke Darcy described as a “fade-away checkside”, put the Richmond 59 points ahead in what became one of the Club’s biggest wins of the 2013 season.

The best goal of the year, as voted by Richmond fans, will be revealed tomorrow, Friday, September 27.
