Richmond dedicated its Round 20 match against the Brisbane Lions to the Fighting Tiger Fund (FTF).
Players wore a dedicated ‘Strong and Bold’ guernsey with names of FTF contributors emblazoned on the jumper.
Richmond’s valued partner, Caydon also supported the FTF on Saturday by donating $1000 for each goal Richmond kicked during the game, as well as $500 per goal during the goalkicking competition with fans pre-game, and matched the donations collected around the ground.
It is expected that the FTF has raised approximately $70,000 from its dedicated Round 20 match.
Since its beginning more than two years ago, the FTF has been able to invest much-needed funds into Richmond’s football department, making the redevelopment of Punt Road Oval possible, bolstering the football development area of the Club with new coaching and resources, as well as put Richmond in a position to recruit free agents such as Troy Chaplin and Chris Knights.
The next important phase of the Fighting Tiger Fund is to raise funds to redevelop the interface around Punt Road Oval to bring it to the required standard to host VFL football.
