Richmond captain Trent Cotchin continues his strong, late-season surge in the AFL Coaches Association’s Player of the Year award.
Cotchin, who took out the prestigious award last year, polled nine votes for his excellent display in last Saturday’s 23-point win against Brisbane at the MCG.
The dynamic Tiger midfielder had 30 disposals, including a game-high seven inside-50s and game-high seven clearances.
Since Round 17, Cotchin has polled 28 votes in the AFLCA Player of the Year award, racking up a perfect 10 against Fremantle in Round 17, nine against Hawthorn in Round 19, and another nine for his Round 20 effort against the Lions.
Robust Richmond midfielder Daniel Jackson, who again underlined why this is his best season of league football, with another top-notch performance, also received nine votes from respective coaches Damien Hardwick and Michael Voss.
Jackson racked up 30 disposals, including a game-high 16 contested possessions, four clearances, and a goal.
