Richmond will take a low-key approach to the remainder of the AFL’s trade period.
The Tigers are satisfied they’ve filled a key need, having snared athletic big man Shaun Hampson from Carlton, and, at this stage, have no other trading plans.
“Certainly, a ruck-key forward was a priority for us, so we’ve achieved that with Shaun,” Richmond’s General Manager of Football, Dan Richardson told ‘Roar Vision’.
“We’ve had a lot of our current players that we’ve needed to re-contract, which has been well publicised.
“That’s been a main focus for us this year and we’ve achieved a good result there, with most of the players that we wanted to retain committing to the Club.
“Obviously, Matt White’s one that moved on through free agency, but other than that, stability is really the key for us.
“We don’t see us necessarily making too many more changes this year, having made a lot of list changes over the last couple of years.”
Richardson had some sound advice for Tiger fans caught up in all the intrigue and speculation that the trade period provides . . .
“It’s a season in itself, the whole trade period, with a lot of rumors and innuendo that go around,” he said.
“All we can focus on is what we can control.
“Don’t believe everything you read.
“We’re like all clubs, working really hard at this time of year to improve our list.”
