Richmond and Collingwood will again play for the Charity Shield when they meet at Ikon Park on Wednesday, February 26, as part of the AFL’s AAMI Community Series.
All profits from ticket sales to the match will be donated to Foodbank, which will help provide food to Victorians experiencing financial hardship.
Foodbank feeds 1.4 million Victorians every three weeks, the same number as the proud football state’s population was when Richmond faced Collingwood for the first time in the VFL back in 1908.

The two Club’s put rivalries aside to launch the inaugural Charity Shield in 2024 and this year are setting their sights on building on the strong start.
Richmond and Collingwood raised 120,000 meals for Victorians last year after selling 11,000 tickets to the 2024 edition.
“Bringing the Tiger Army and Collingwood fanbases together in the name of charity is a pre-season tradition we want to build on,” Richmond CEO Shane Dunne said.
“Foodbank is helping feed Victorians in need which is a very worthy cause right in our backyard.
“I encourage all of our fans to get to Ikon Park on February 26 for what is a unique opportunity to see us play while directly supporting those in our community that need it the most.”
Foodbank CEO Dave McNamara added context to the importance of the match for the Victorian community.
“In the last year alone, we have seen demand for our food push towards 70,000 people a day,” he said
“It is a huge relief that these two great footy clubs have joined forces once again to play the Charity Shield game for Foodbank.
“We cannot wait to see that fierce intent on the field and in the stands to help make sure we can support our communities through the season.”
Member tickets are available for a $10 donation, while non-members can purchase tickets to the game for $20.
All children aged 14 or under (as of January 1st, 2025) will be able to enter Ikon Park for free, however they must redeem a free junior ticket via Ticketmaster.
