Richmond’s rising star, Brandon Ellis, has received 10 out of 10 for his dominant performance in Sunday’s 34-point win against Melbourne at the MCG.

Ellis was awarded the maximum 10 votes by respective coaches Damien Hardwick and Mark Neeld in the AFL Coaches Association’s Player of the Year award for his superb 39-disposal display (25 kicks, 14 handballs, 11 marks and one goal).

He has now polled coaches’ votes in three of the past four rounds, having picked up four in the Round 7 victory over Port Adelaide, and one in the Round 5 loss to Fremantle.

Another talented Tiger teenager, in Nick Vlastuin, was rewarded for his excellent effort against the Demons last Sunday, in just his fourth game of AFL football, with eight votes.

Vlastuin had 19 kicks, six handballs, 16 marks and booted a goal, the week after receiving an AFL Rising Star nomination.
