Richmond captain Trent Cotchin believes the Club’s pre-season camp in Townsville has helped bring the playing group closer together.
The players arrived back in Melbourne on Sunday, after a week-long trip in North Queensland, which mixed heat training with team bonding activities.
“It was challenging at times, both physically and mentally, but credit to the group. Everyone stuck strong,” Cotchin told 3AW radio.
“We had an element of just training in the heat, like a normal week with a few added sessions here and there.
“Obviously when you’re away with your team-mates there’s an opportunity to do a little bit more training than when you’re at the club.
“We did an amazing race for the last three days, which had a lot of different elements, some physical, some mental, even down to basic maths problems, which some of the boys struggled with.
“It was a great camp. A lot of the boys got great benefits from it.
“The most important thing was we didn’t have any injuries, so a lot of people are confident with their durability.”
