Richmond rookie Anthony Miles has been promoted to the Club’s senior playing list, putting him in the selection frame for Saturday’s game against his former team Greater Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium.

Miles has consistently been among the best players in six appearances for Richmond’s VFL team this season.

The 22-year-old inside midfielder averages 30 disposals per game in the VFL.  He had a season-high 34 touches against Geelong at the ME Bank Centre’ Punt Road Oval in Round 7.

He has underlined his ability as a clearance specialist, averaging nine per game, to go with an average of five tackles, six marks, and 14 contested possessions.

Miles is a replacement on the Tigers’ senior playing list for Jake King, who recently was placed on the long-term injury list, due to a foot injury.

“Anthony has done everything right at VFL level since the start of the season, and has well and truly earned his promotion to the senior list,” said Richmond’s General Manager of Football, Dan Richardson.

“He’s a hard worker, he loves the contested style of play, and he has fitted into the group extremely well since arriving at the Club late last year.

"We’re confident he’ll grab his opportunity when it comes and make the most of it.”

Miles was impressive in his two appearances in Richmond’s 2014 pre-season campaign, collecting 16 disposals and kicking two goals against Melbourne, and finishing with 16 touches against Collingwood a week later.
