At its 18 December 2018 meeting, the Richmond Football Club Board appointed Tina De Young as the Club’s new director, filling a vacancy that arose due to Rob Dalton completing his term at the recent Annual General Meeting.
De Young has a wealth of experience across a wide range of industries including banking and finance, health, infrastructure and agriculture. During this time, she has specialised in mergers, acquisitions and divestments, business valuations and strategy development.
She worked for two years with Morgan Stanley Investment Management in London before spending 12 years with Grant Samuel, finishing as an associate director in 2017. She now operates her own consultancy.
De Young, who is also a board member of the Victorian Institute of Sports, has been a member of the Richmond Football Club Finance Committee since 2011. She has also been an external member of the Club’s Risk, Compliance and Integrity Committee and Audit Committee since 2017. Tina was also involved in establishing the Club's Aligned Leisure subsidiary business.
Richmond President Peggy O’Neal welcomed De Young to the Board.
“As a director, Tina brings great experience, vision and rigour.” O’Neal said. "Her finance, strategic and analytical skills will help us replace skills that we lost when Rob Dalton finished.
“I would also like to acknowledge Rob Dalton who has worked tirelessly for this Club over a long period of time. Rob helped steer us through some difficult times and guide us into the very strong financial position we are in today. We thank him for all he has done for the Club over the past 15 years.”
Emmett Dunne APM, who has served on the Board since September 2016, was also appointed to the position of Vice President at Tuesday's meeting, replacing Rob Dalton.
