Richmond’s tied result with Collingwood in the 2020 season re-opener at the MCG was the 23rd draw in the Tigers’ AFL/VFL history.

It was just the second time that Richmond and the Magpies have played a draw in their long-standing rivalry. The previous occasion was all the way back in Round 6 of the 1917 season.

Damien Hardwick has now been involved in three drawn matches throughout his tenure as the Tigers’ coach – Round 2, 2011 v St Kilda, Round 23, 2012 v Port Adelaide, and Round 2, 2020 v Collingwood.
