The Tiger Army has just ticked over 85,000 committed members for the 2019 season, with the Richmond Football Club today announcing it has achieved the membership milestone in record time.

Senior players made the announcement with balloons during Friday's team photo day, with the official tally sitting at 85,373 on Friday afternoon.

The Club set an AFL record in 2018 when it finished the season with 100,726 members, the first time the 100,000-member mark had been achieved.

There is now under four weeks to go until the traditional season opener against Carlton on Thursday, March 21 at the MCG.

Blockbuster MCG home games against Collingwood (Round 2), Melbourne (Anzac Day eve) and Essendon (Dreamtime at the 'G) are also highlights of the first half of the Tigers' 2019 season.

Richmond supporters who join or renew before February 28 will receive their membership pack in time for Round 1.
