Richmond will seek to field its strongest possible line-up in each match throughout the JLT Community Series.
The Tigers kick off their pre-season campaign against Adelaide at Etihad Stadium this Friday night (February 24). They then play Port Adelaide at Mount Gambier on Sunday, March 5, and Collingwood at Moe on Saturday, March 11.
General Manager of Football, Neil Balme, provided an explanation of Richmond’s philosophy with this year’s pre-season series.
“Because we’ve got rounds two, three and four, we’re just going to try and pick best available side each time,” Balme told the Club’s official podcast, ‘Talking Tigers’.
“But best available will mean some bloke might need to be rested because he’s a bit sore. Or they might only play a half. Or we might want to particularly look at someone . . .
“It’s not (play) a heap of young kids, leave a few (older players) out and rest them.
“It’ll be virtually play the three (games), I think, mostly.”
