The Richmond Football Club has today announced changes to its playing list, informing defender Jake Batchelor and forward Ben Lennon they will not be offered contracts in 2018.
Recruited to Richmond in the 2010 National Draft with the Club’s second round selection (No. 30 overall), Batchelor made his AFL debut in 2011 and played 84 senior games.
Lennon was recruited to Richmond with the Tigers’ 1st round selection (No. 12 overall) in the 2013 National Draft. A highly skilled youngster Lennon made his debut in 2014 and played 21 games.
Richmond general manager – football talent, Dan Richardson, thanked the pair for their services to the club. “On behalf of the Richmond Football Club, I would like to thank Jake and Ben for their positive influences on our club.
“Jake has made an invaluable contribution to the club over the last 7 years. His strong work ethic has been second to none. During his time here he showed great professionalism and commitment to the club.
“Ben is a resilient character and is held in high regard with the playing group. We wish both players well in their future endeavours.”
