Jack Riewoldt will enter the 2018 season as the second-highest goalkicker among current AFL players following the retirement of his cousin Nick Riewoldt’s at the end of last season.
The star Richmond key forward has kicked 537 goals in his 225 games at senior league level, which places him equal 48th (alongside Essendon great John Coleman) on the competition’s all-time goalkicking list.
Nick Riewoldt finished with 718 goals in his illustrious 336-game career at St Kilda.
Sydney’s Lance Franklin has the most goals of any modern-day league player with 860 in 271 games.
Jack Riewoldt is sixth on Richmond’s all-time goalkicking list behind Dick Harris (548), Michael Roach (607), Kevin Bartlett (778), Matthew Richardson (800) and Jack Titus (970).
Riewoldt has booted at least one goal in each of his past 29 games with the Tigers. The last time he went goalless in a match was Round 17 of the 2016 season against Essendon.
He also is just 15 goals away from reaching the 300-goal milestone at Richmond’s MCG home ground.
Only two Tiger players have scored more goals at the ‘G’ – Kevin Bartlett (379) and Matthew Richardson (the ground’s highest goalkicker) 464.
