Star Richmond midfielder Dion Prestia picked up from where he left off last year, producing an excellent performance in the 2020 season-opener victory over Carlton at the MCG last night.

The dual premiership Tiger and reigning Jack Dyer Medallist showcased his trademark hard, two-way running, poise, ball-winning ability and creativity right throughout the contest, playing a pivotal role in the team’s 24-point win.

He finished the match with 25 disposals, nine inside-50s, five tackles, one goal, two goal assists, eight score involvements and a team-high 546 metres gained, further underlining his importance within Richmond’s line-up.

Post-game, Prestia’s Tiger teammate Tom Lynch was full of praise for the gun on-baller in an interview with ‘Fox Footy’.

“He’s a superb player,” Lynch said.

“He won our Best and Fairest in a premiership year, so we know he’s a great player, and he just keeps on keeping on.”
