Trent Cotchin is on track to become Richmond’s longest-serving captain during the 2020 season.
All being well, Cotchin will break Percy Bentley’s record of 168 games as Tigers skipper in the Round 16 clash with Port Adelaide on Saturday, July 4.
Bentley held the captaincy reins at Tigerland from 1932-1940. He was captain of the Club’s 1932 premiership side and captain-coach when the Tigers won the flag in 1934.
Cotchin was appointed Richmond’s captain at the end of 2012, replacing Chris Newman.
He has now led the Tigers in a total of 154 games, including the 2017 and 2019 Grand Final triumphs.
