Richmond has suffered a 45-point defeat to GWS on Saturday afternoon at Robertson Oval, Wagga Wagga, falling 7.14 (56) to 1.5 (11).
The Tigers were within three straight kicks at half-time but were kept goalless for the remainder of the match. Despite recording 14 behinds, the Giants were able to kick away for a comprehensive victory.
Gun Richmond onballer Monique Conti was her team's best mover and finished with 21 disposals and six tackles, while former Giant Phoebe Monahan (22 touches) fought hard in defence against the waves of GWS attacks.
Conti provided the highlight of the day for the Tigers, an explosive run through the midfield that set up stand-in skipper Christina Bernardi's goal in her milestone match.
For the Giants, local favourite Alyce Parker returned to her ball-winning best and Cora Staunton booted four goals to lead them back into the top three of Conference A.
Richmond remains winless after five rounds, but skipper Katie Brennan (concussion) could return for their clash with St Kilda next week.
Say what?
"(We need to) Clone 'Mon' (Conti) and find another one of her. She's a super talent but didn't quite get enough support." - Richmond coach Tom Hunter
What’s next?
The Tigers head back to Melbourne for a clash with St Kilda at RSEA Park on Saturday.
