Coburg snapped a four-game losing streak by accounting for VFL top-four aspirant Werribee yesterday.
The Tigers dominated the early going, and led by more than six goals during the third quarter, before Werribee launched a final quarter comeback.
Werribee hit the lead in the final stages, but Ben Clifton replied soon after and Coburg held on to win by three points, 9.12.66 to 9.9.63.
Robin Nahas (30 disposals) and Brad Helbig (26 disposals and a goal) were among the best players on the ground, while tall target Liam McBean kicked two goals.
Sam Lonergan was prolific at the stoppages, winning 11 clearances from his 24 possessions.
Richmond-listed rookie Steven Verrier put in one of his best performances of the season, amassing 26 disposals and seven inside 50s.
Coburg will look for back-to-back wins when it faces the Northern Blues this Sunday, July 28, at 1pm.
