Richmond VFL will open its 2020 campaign against Sandringham at Marvel Stadium on Sunday, April 5 at 12.00pm.
The Round 1 encounter will be a curtain raiser to Richmond and St Kilda's annual 'Maddie's Match' clash, which kicks off at 3.20pm.
Under new coach Xavier Clarke, the reigning premier is scheduled to play six home games at the Swinburne Centre and two at Holm Park, Beaconsfield in 2020.
With a bye in Round 2, the Tigers will play their first home game in Round 4 when they host Casey Demons in an ANZAC Day meeting on Saturday, April 25 from 11.30am.
As part of the Sir Doug Nicholls Round, Richmond will face Essendon in a curtain raiser at the Swinburne Centre on Saturday, May 23 ahead of the Dreamtime at the ‘G match. The Round 8 clash will be the first of three straight games at Tigerland.
Tiger fans can look forward to an extra footy fix at the MCG on Sunday, August 16 when Richmond faces the Box Hill Hawks at 12.00pm prior to the Richmond v Hawthorn AFL clash at 3.20pm.
The season will also feature three curtain raisers at the Swinburne Centre prior to Richmond AFL games at the MCG:
- Round 8 v Essendon, Saturday May 23 at 2.10pm (AFL: Richmond v Essendon 7.25pm)
- Round 10 v North Melbourne, Sunday June 7 11.00am (AFL: Richmond v North Melbourne 2.10pm)
- Round 17 v Footscray, Sunday July 26 10.00am (AFL: Richmond v Western Bulldogs 1.10pm)
The Tigers will play AFL-aligned opponents on the same weekend eight times during the season.
Three Richmond games will be broadcast on Channel 7 – Round 1 v Sandringham, Round 13 v Geelong and Round 20 v Box Hill Hawks.
