AFL Fantasy

I had a much better second bye round, with a total score of 1622. Still not great, but a big improvement on last week!

Tom Rockliff’s late withdrawal hurt me – he was my captain, and I think I would definitely have cracked 1800 if he’d played.

On the bright side, I was very happy with my two trades for the week. I brought in Robbie Nahas and ‘Boomer’ Harvey, who scored very nicely – 110 and 144 respectively. Gary Ablett was sublime as usual with 127 points, and Patrick Dangerfield had a sensational game against Collingwood with 135.

I’m in a better position now for the third bye, and will hopefully be able to field more than 18 players to boost my score and crawl back up the ladder.

Stephen L continues to lead the Richmond fan league ladder, and he was also the highest scorer for the week with 1968 points. Ashley R and his team “Power and Glory” weren’t too far behind on 1962 points.

Good luck everyone for the last of the bye rounds!

Superboot

I’ve slipped again, this time down to 45th position. Nick Riewoldt was my Superboot this week and kicked just two goals, to put 14 goals between me and first place, M Endley.

I don’t think many people thought the Gold Coast would be so dominant, and although Riewoldt has had some great form this year, I found myself wishing I picked someone on the other side instead! Gary Ablett and Brandon Matera both kicked four goals, while Harley Bennell booted three.

Buddy Franklin continued his history of dominance over Essendon, kicking five majors to be Round 9’s leading goalkicker.

There are two more rounds now left in May – good luck to those who are gunning for the May prizes! And if you haven’t signed up, do it here to get a couple of week’s practice before the June rounds start.

Good luck for Round 10.
