Stand-in Richmond skipper, Brett Deledio, scored a perfect 10 in the AFL Coaches Association’s Player of the Year award voting for Round 7.

Deledio, who captained the Tigers in the absence of the injured Trent Cotchin, received the maximum 10 votes from respective coaches Damien Hardwick and Ken Hinkley for his best-on-ground performance in the crucial victory over Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium.

The dual Jack Dyer Medallist paved the way for Richmond’s convincing 41-point win with a dominant 32-disposal display across the four quarters.

“In his first game as captain, he led from the front,” Hardwick said.

“He sets a pretty high standard and he normally delivers.  It is the calibre of the bloke.”

Richmond scooped the pool in the Round 7 votes, with Tiger players filling all voting places .

Livewire small forward Jake King polled six votes, as did young gun midfielder Dustin Martin.

Another rising Tiger star in Brandon Ellis received four votes, while Shane Edwards and Jack Riewoldt were given two votes apiece.
