Richmond star Brett Deledio was awarded the Ian Stewart Medal following his best-on-ground performance in Sunday’s 16-point win against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.
Deledio’s class was decisive in the outcome of the match. He picked up 28 disposals, including four inside-50s, had 15 score involvements, and kicked three vital goals.

“When he’s hitting the scoreboard as a half-forward, and then those small stints on-ball, it’s really important for us as a group, especially with ‘Titchy’ (Shane) Edwards out.
“He creates that little bit of craft up forward that sometimes we can lack.
“Credit to Lids. He stood up when we were needing him most, through the middle part of the game. And, at the end of the game, he was probably the difference.”
Deledio joins teammate Jack Riewoldt as a dual winner of the prestigious Ian Stewart Medal, having previously received it in 2011. Riewoldt won his two in 2010 and 2012.

The Tiger pair are the only multiple winners of the prestigious individual award since its inception in 2004.
The Ian Stewart Medal is named in honor of the only player in league football history to win a Brownlow Medal and premiership at two clubs.
Ian Stewart, who was an outstanding centreman, also is an Australian Football Hall of Fame Legend.
